Water Exercise Instructor

The Ocean Community YMCA now has openings for Water Exercise Instructors at the Naik  Family Branch located in Mystic, CT.

The general function of the Water Exercise Instructor is to provide members with exciting, safe and productive water exercise classes. Classes offered are varied in scope and some are specialized due to the demands of the industry. Staff also will maintain a safe and clean environment for our members.

Qualifications:

Previous work experience (in group exercise) is required. All staff should have the relevant certification/s to teach their appropriate class. CPR/AED/First Aid required; American Red Cross or equivalent. Lifeguard certification a plus.

Principal Activities:

1. Greet all class participants as they enter the class area.

2. Take attendance on designated attendance sheets. Remember to always write the number of participants on the attendance sheet for each class taught.

3. Politely enforce the rules of the facility.

4. Check pool area before and after your classes. Clean up and put away any equipment (weights, tubing, resistance equipment, etc.) that may be left out.

5. Follow protocols as determined by the YMCA and the Aquatics Director.

6. Perform actions within the best interest of the YMCA.
