The Ocean Community YMCA is now seeking a Head Swim Coach for the Westerly-Pawcatuck Y Dolphins Swim Team.  This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Swim Coach!

This is a Part-Time, Year-round position with the Ocean Community YMCA.  The Head Coach works closely with the leadership team at the Westerly Pawcatuck Branch.  The Swim Team is staffed by all volunteer coaches, all with great experience and support for the athletes and program.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, supervising and implementing the Dolphins Swim Team program in accordance with the goals and policies of the Y and USA Swimming
• Athletic development and supervision of coaches, instructors, and volunteers
• Promoting the Swim Team program while adhering to YMCA mission and core values
• Coordinating and attending all swim meets
• Working with the Parent Boosters Club to coordinate team events
• Maintaining Safe Sport Compliance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or related experience in aquatics and coaching
• Extensive knowledge of competitive swimming as well as 2 years of personal competitive swimming experience
• Certifications for:
  • Principals of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving
  • Lifeguard certification
  • Safety Training for Swim Coaches
  • CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Administration-Red Cross Preferred (YMCA willing to train)
